 The Son Who Burned Bridges

You must use 'tough' love they say,
to get a kid back on the right track,
just to have him act like a mad dog,
and start stabbing you in the back.

my good deeds were getting too old,
they were never, for him, good enough,
he wanted the core of my very soul,
to help satisfy his voracious lusts.

and the evil that lurked around inside,
tried hard to find a charming way out,
but his tainted love was filled with pride,
with fiery eyes and the senseless shouts!

both ends are burning out of control,
now he flounders there and about,
and the blood in me is running cold,
for it's way too late to put his fire out.
