Confetti
I fall like confetti
raining softly down from endless skies
my life a series of fluttering moments
ghostly in their swarm
edges vague, melding into one
no longer from another
points of focus run ragged
mad pictures
sweet voices
coalescing for a moment
on to the next
memories like dreams
there one moment
gone the following
never quite there
hovering around the periphery
waiting for the blade-sharp moment
of clear
vibrant
clarity
that cycles like a movie
or creeps
silent below the surface
biding time
dark and bright
beautiful and vicious
there and gone
again
fog overwhelming
I fall to retreat
and let it go
let the mists slip through my hands
from my mind
