Plagues of War

What sort of twilight awaits us?
What olive branch can we extend,

when humanity is so hell bent
on hatred or revenge and a

history consumed by wars, bloody
conflicts, death and mayhem?

Like a thorn stuck on the blind side
of peace seemingly without end.

Count, thus, the uncertain tomorrows
as though this day is certainly the last.

Trade not hope for only more sorrows
until the plague of wars have passed.
