Salvation's Promise**

My ascending was slow at first,
as I rose above the earth,
leaving behind all I knew to be life,
hating all the sides of death's device.

But suddenly there is no more pain,
no torment of body, mind or soul, disdain.
I need not worry about my next breath,
or fear the surety of mortal death.

I feel souls rising with mine, freed,
from all places, nothing too impede.
First one, then two, seemingly but few,
now dozens, hundreds, thousands true.

Angels hover over our rising souls,
guiding the risen from a celestial pole,
singing songs of praise and celebration,
for these the chosen of earth's creation.

Full of joy, the angels shout and cheer,
as round all our souls they draw near,
bringing us to heaven's open doors,
where salvation's promise eternity restores.
Psalms 91:12 …For he shall give his
angels charge over thee, to keep thee
in all thy ways. They shall bear thee
up in their hands, lest thou dash thy
foot against a stone."
