Wondrous Secret**

I followed God oft by mere chance,
accepting Him mostly in a trance.
No standard set, oft I would forget,
saying "grace" was hit or miss,
not learned early, easily dismissed.

Bible opened this day or that,
daily reading never habit.
Bible knowledge found here and there,
followed this wanderer everywhere.

Though life itself would shed its load,
the words were almost silently bestowed.
Shaping the days, chasing the years,
where grew a vastness of trembling fear.

It seemed the words held no hope,
no handhold grasped on a slippery slope.
Sinking as low as a vacant heart can go,
until a wondrous secret I came to know.

A secret of freedom and eternal bliss,
as sweet as the touch of an angel's kiss.
A secret of salvation and love,
a secret of eternity's glory above.

2 Corinthians 3-17-18 "Now the Lord is
the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the
Lord is, there is freedom.  And we, who
with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's
glory, are being transformed into his
likeness with ever increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
