Mr. Cat Daddy

somewhere in a nearby lake
there is a thirty pound catfish
to take with a small double hook
set slightly on his upper lip.

he loved my bait so much his
tongue couldn't resist the touch
as he pulled me in with my own
rod and nearly broke my hip.

adding misery to woe this cat
daddy also managed to strain
the muscles and tendons of my
right hand and struggling arm.

when I heal I plan to finish the deal
and go after him again because I
know where he swims. The next
time we clash will be a charm.
