Slowly
Slipping
From pain ridden hands
Hurting bodies
Eagerly await peaceful sleep
As cancer grows within
Taking refuge
In unwilling hosts
Killing necessity
Destroying causes for life
Knocking on illusions door
Begging for it to open
Pleading for it to close
Drug induced comas
PAINLESS
LIFELESS
Souls flee human shells
They……No longer feel
Ice
Cold
Pumps through withering veins
Discolored limbs
hang from time
Teasing the inevitable
Fighting
Needing
Savoring
Each counted breath
Gasping for air with closed lungs
Death
Sits
Patiently
I see him there
Stealing life
Making widows
Childless Mothers
Fatherless children
Friendless people
Leaving them
ALONE
Tired
Beat
Hurt for lifetimes
Death comes when he is ready
Unsaid words have no place
In deaths arena
Let there be NO
“I should have said this”
“I should have done that”
“I really should have went to see him or her”
One can't live or die on a promise
Or a thought
Or even wishful thinking
Death will come
Make amends
With who you love
Make everyday
Your only day
