Sky Bird
The fun part about acrostic poetry is trying to make sense of the piece without forcing a rhyme. I attempted to do this.
When I heard about a newly discovered isolated aboriginal tribe in South America who were worshiping an image of an airplane, ...
well, I attempted to immerse myself in what a frightened tribesman might have thought and prayed.
Hope you like it.
Sky Bird
Awesome power is the god in the sky,
In pursuit of unholy and unwary prey,
Ravishing those who seek to destroy us,
Praise we give to the Sky Bird, this day,
Lest we bow at the sight of her face,
And pray that she does not swallow us,
Nothing will deprive us of her grace,
Endless mercy shall forever follow us.
