8. A THOUSAND PROOF

"A Thousand Proof" addresses my love affair for alcohol and the fatal effects it may have on me one day. The music is sort of fast, and the lyrics match that adrenaline rush.

8: A THOUSAND PROOF

Verse 1:

Well, my brain's comatose

Yeah, I may overdose

Can I stay overnight

I'm afraid of my pose

Can I crash at your house

Pass out on your couch

Please don't call my folks

I'ma wait this one out

They don't need to worry

I'm in no hurry

Things are all blurry

The world is a flurry again

It's not that I'm gone

I'm just wasting my thoughts

I'm replacing my mind

Say goodbye to my faults

My walls have all crumbled

My words are all jumbled

I speak in a mumble

I hungered and lusted for them

Seeking the light

These chills have set in

If I'm leaving tonight

Tell my brother that I couldn't win...

Bridge:

This game...

This game...

Chorus:

Drown-ing

In a thousand proof

Is

How I leave from here

And it sounds good--

To be inebriated...

Frown-ing

On my thousand sins

It's

Now so crystal clear

Anytime would--

Be appreciated...

Verse 2:

Now my clothes are all wasted

And my mind has freebased in

its own little basement

I think I OD'd once again

There is little patience

For those who play favorites

With liquid detainment

I may need a deacon for this

Hold on,

I may reach my next summit

I die in this vomit

To go like a rock star,

So long...

How I held on too tightly

Now I ask politelty

Remove these wires

From me...

Bridge:

Because

I can't-------

bleed....

Chorus x2
