Absolution

What is absolution?
Does anyone truly know?
I thought that you would absolutely
love me for the rest of our lives.
I believed the same of myself.
Could it be merely a fleeting
fairytale created by mankind to
establish hope for the impossible.
Hope that all of our dreams would
be one day fulfilled.
That life would always be kind and
fair and giving to all.
That those that we fall in love,
would for all eternity love us in
return and with good faith bring
no harm or hurt.
It might be said that true absolution
is there is no absolution.
