The Black Knight

The Black Knight he rides for
me tonight, upon his demon steed.
Eyes aflame under his hooded cloak
like the brimstone's of hell.
I hear him coming faster and faster,
hooves pounding louder and louder.
I run into the cover of darkness
deep into the night.
Brambles and bushes tearing at
skin and cloths alike.
His unseen creatures, at his beck
and call, to do his evil bidding.
Terror as I've never felt before, as I
see the ends of the earth begin to falter.
I feel the steeds broiling snorts upon
the nap of my neck.
Heart pounding, minding racing, my
feet falter I stumble to the ground.
I stand and turn, eyes closed, with
only a cowards courage left.
My breath catches in my chest, as I
open my eyes, only to realize the
nightmare had ended.
