stressing out

there's a time line to every goal in life,
there's a reason for every breath,
there is a mate for every soul and the
lack of it can follow you 'till death,

there's a part of life in us which extends
to every life which ever lived; which died;
which will live and die when we are gone.

our essence, if not so much as but a
solitary footnote in history, will still, in
it's own way, linger on ... to the next
generation, so on and so on,

there is no rhyme or reason to fear death and
the unknown for it is there wherein all our
futures lie,

that's why i've learned to take it easy, ...
my dog and me, to remove all the stress
in life before i die,

it wasn't easy to lose those things which
ruled my life; which ruined my life in
many ways ... like smoke and alcohol

to abandon the things which i loved the
most in life displaces the spirit in me, but
the price i have to pay is rather small,

time used a serendipitous approach to
play havoc on my face... she left many
marks on my skin and soul that time can't erase,

sunbathing on the beach, or driving a tractor
on grandfather's farm; i was the beouf without
regalia; 'tis how i displayed my charm,

looking back is futile; looking ahead is now
my only charm...i am just living one day at the
time, without my soul mate in my arms.
