The Miscellaneous Drawer
I see a lifetime of memories
in my miscellaneous drawer,
Treasure troves of bits and pieces
to stretch my memories far.
It's the kind of place to store the
things which may be good,
In lieu of tossing them all away
as once I thought I should,
A simple sliding stained wooden box
with a pearly looking exterior knob,
Filled to the brim with hundreds of
things from the bottom to the top.
For which each will produce a memory...
a distant connection to my past,
A compartment of uncommon harbored
reminders to make my memories last.
