When the Empire Strikes Back

Our leaders now want Congress to
approve the Al Queda trials of Muslim
prisoners at Gitmo. It seems that these
political maneuvers, in my humble opinion,
were planned from the very outset...from
the get go.

The rhetoric of mid-term elections is
rolling in like ubiquitous storm clouds
along a troubled coast. The issue becomes
who will tell us what we want to hear?
Who will promise to do the most...

To keep safe a united people from every
querulous corner of the earth? Whom
will come to our rescue? Which political
party, I wonder, will find the solutions
to our problems first?

Politics...huh! Some folks say it's a way
of modern life and we have got to love it,
even when everyone is passing the buck
or the blame for administrative failures,
or trying to find a place to shove it...

On a back burner somewhere only to divert
our attention from the real issues of the world
in which we live...not to mention... the scores
of enemy nations abroad who would rather
fight and kill than forgive...

Those who do not share in their faithful beliefs.
They cannot and will not see that tolerance is
the glue which binds us here to this great land.
Without this glue that binds us, this empire, in
all it's glory, would not stand...

For liberty, justice and freedom for all. We are
merely a fledgling young democracy ourselves
at heart. We possess the fervor and spirit to
spread our ideals to others around the world
before they fall apart.

All in all, I'm convinced that the United States
is indeed on the right track during this World
War Three.  The question remains: do our enemies
tremble with fear when the empire strikes back?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
