Diminished Capacity

Today I inadvertently stopped
on the big O's show, in the late
afternoon...around four o'clock on
channel twelve, ...as I recall.

And I've got something to tell y'all
There! ...before the whole world's eyes,
this diva of talk-time television said to
be aware of fishing trips taken by us guys.

She thinks we all have some nefarious
hidden agenda which includes no fish
at all...merely tales of adventure...some
standing too tall.

Her guest was a forty-ish year old
women...a downtrodden married
man's one at that. It wasn't hard at
all to separate fiction from fact.

It was her last ditch effort to
get closure on something for
which she had absolutely, without
a doubt, no control.

She believed national attention
could miraculously solve her
problems, or diminish the fact that
she is growing old.

I wanted to laugh. I turned the channel
instead, with fineness and style... and I
landed on the fishing channel. So, I sat
there and watched it for awhile.
