Tides That Turn 2000

How quickly tides of emotions shift
from open valleys to deepest rifts,
that span unbridgeable gaps,
of painfulness and lack.

The wind stirs and dances about,
chasing care and anger in and out,
it picks up a word of needed relief,
taking it away leaving only grief.

The strongest winds tear and rend,
a gentle breeze of healing send,
to calm the tides that toss and turn,
stilling the deepest seas that churn.

To still the currents that rule the ocean,
sending a message of tenuous devotion.
A horizon once clouded and gray,
now reveals the promise of a brighter day.

Job 19:17-18  With a storm he might
overwhelm me, and multiply my wounds
for nothing; He would not allow me to
draw breath, but fill me with bitter griefs.
