If Love Never Comes

I wish we could do with heartbreaks what we do with wounds, just some balm and bandaging,
And so maybe the infection never spreads to those places that can only make it fatal, pain is natal
Like pain killers do to a headache, like food does to hunger like a hug warms even the emotionless,
I think I need that now, having all these wounded feelings, this broken heart and vengeful emotions!
We are hurting each other so much at times I fear, I grieve, if we will ever be normal again…
But then what is normal in a world with so much noise, a place with so many disturbances?
It was created to be a haven especially for the disturbed, the sick, the broken, the lonely and forgotten
Just when we thought tears were only meant for hurting, didn't it come to prove all of us wrong?
Sometimes our eyes go wet only because the feeling is uncontainable, it was born only to overwhelm
The fact that it was there before all of us, the fact that even as sinful as we can be…
It still found a way to us!
Unimaginable, what we have done to it with our unkempt egos that part of us so genius at destroying

Certain areas of us will never be okay the only cure there is, isn't anymore
We have become so out of order so out of control and so hardened even Love cannot love us anymore
No one honors and cares for its healing power anymore just the vengeance for the heartache from before
The only hope we have for our bitterness, the only therapy there is for our emotional psychosis
If the world was a dangerous place then it was gifted to us as the only safest place …
To think of the terrible lengths we are going to make it the deadliest case…
Such potency we had for it when life was still the love in those memoirs that brought smiles to our face
That passion alive, unbelievable and gripping, inspiring all of us to love; adaptations of love's great chase
All there is now is just a cocktail of smug young men and women bent on self-will and self-fulfillment
A world at the brink of self-destruction, human beings stopping at nothing to become the beast
Stop, stop all of you the lying, the cheating, the viciousness and deceit. Stop, please! I insist.
I was once in love, are now the stories to keep you awake; how they took us to dreamland once…
Tender hearts are now just golden-oldies; stone hearts have taken over and the promise of affection keeps being broken
Yet spring time still comes to us, nature's perfumes and sweet colors never fail us…
A time you could sit there, listen to the butterflies within you and blush, smile and be pink in the face…
Today it's hard to sleep the heart keeps counting the number of those who keep breaking it in their wake
Such a horrible and reprehensive mess!
Apparently courtship was sentenced to death by the jury of our emotions; if not us then our actions
Just a land of love affairs we now live in, of physical attraction and ‘nip-tucks'
How I miss those days of honest attraction of little to no fatal attraction; everything today ‘sucks'
When we could converse for long without having to lose it and go on to mention the ‘fucks'
Back then when we took time with each other, when we kept our word and honored all our appointments
Seasons of ugly, this seed of hurt we keep sowing will reap for us a great harvest of disappointments
Falling in love has become such a discomfort and most of us have abandoned life's other assignments

As the day starts you begin to wonder how many more vipers; will your kiss ever find true charm?
No more Prince Charming, no more Princess Fiona just frogs and poisonous apples…
As the sunsets vanity refreshes and with the coming of dawn will be more frogs to kiss,
If the apple didn't kill you! I am just a poet I'm not near perfection; forgive me if I seem to diss
But this world is going to a place even hell cannot punish, a place that is very much beyond remiss
A world in which people used to walk now we stalk; used to talk now we only hiss,
Point-blank today's love is a perfect mess; day by day new leading cases of break-ups and divorces…
Just a hand-full still make it to the ‘altar'; this business and attitude of narcissism should certainly ‘alter'
Love has no part in it, it never did; someone once said what goes around comes around…
Too many dragon-flies are coming around, if only true kisses and butterflies had gone around instead,
If only the frown you met had been turned into a smile; if only you knew that vengeance is only His.
The over-told story, yes, that old story of Heaven is actually true, Love's heaven starts inside you…
Those in pursuit of undying passion and lasting affection; of new hearts; hold on, love never dies
In such a moment think of those you have betrayed with a kiss those you left on a death bed,
And why everything you find keeps turning out bad, happiness always short-lived before long you're sad
The mind you can't stand, it keeps reminding you of the good, the sweetness you once had…
More tears and that barbed wire we have put around our heart; are we still valiant or just afraid…
The walls of passion that came down on us a long time ago, those who hurt us, stole our heart and fled
Look around you the faces you see their fright and fear look exactly like yours; why then the bloodshed?

Why tomorrow there will be more heartache, if today ends without a truce a truce of love,
Because love never dies
I took an in-depth look inside myself saw all the faces I lied to; this writing is that apology I make too
One day after all this ruin and emotional mayhem I see a soul like yours that wants to feel warm again
A face like yours that wants to glow again, a heart like yours that misses true excitement, it once got…
This little voice of clarity hopes to find the best in you to reproof this feral culture, the stiff-necked sought
Like an orgasm does to the body, like water does to thirst, like food does to hunger…
Like a hug nurses even the hopeless, like this verse will find even the senseless,
I think we need that now, having all these wounded feelings, these broken hearts and vengeful emotions!
But then,
If love never dies, having come to such a place in this world bent on killing it, what if love never comes?

If the world has fallen out of Favor, did it ever have any?
If it did, take me back to that place so I can learn to Love Again.
