 MY POETRY 205-THE RELENTLESS DAY
    89851 Poems Read.

the relentless day

                        Turn off,just once
                        this dread relentless day.
                        Close down my eyes
                        and shade this molten mind
from the black and heavy grey
of those skies of dull indifference
                        to our human toil
                        our hopes and fears
                        and flowering life that fades
                        of all it's colour
                        down
                        to the last decay
when all the words that ever were,
                        writ and read,
                        spin endlessly in ether,
                        hang pointlessly at corners
                        like homeless waifs who wait
                        to be discovered
                        found,fed and read
                        and then discarded
                        to float quietly into nothing
                        in this dark,relentless day.....dave hobbs
