Outsiders
They see exactly what we want them to see, everyday we fix our clothes to attract the outsiders; we desire the acceptance of others.
We keep our gardens perfect as a display for any on lookers, in fear that if its not done we may judged unkindly.
We wear a permanent smile to deceit others from our true emotions, determined to live the lie that keeps us within society circle.
We have lost ourself in these lies, from the outsiders our marriage is perfect
We work together to make ends meet.
When the day is over we both sit down to rest our feet;the conversation is brief
We take off our exhausting smiles we have worn all day
We are now comfortable and relaxed in a strange way
We trust and love one another
Where content
but we've forgotten what it was we first felt
We climb into bed and longer embrace
but turn out the lights and pull the quilts over our face
