He Arose**

They placed Him in a dark tomb,
sealed by a stone of emptiness and gloom.
Guards were placed to watch and wait,
little did they know their own fate.

The stone of emptiness has been rolled away.
The tomb of darkness brought into day.
They search inside and He is not there.
The body of the crucified could be found nowhere.

Mary did not know Him when He came to her.
How could such a wondrous thing occur?
The angel said the living did not belong with the dead.
How could He live, she had seen Him as He died and bled?

He arose to release us from the emptiness of our tombs.
To bring light and life out of darkness and doom.
To release us from the very chains of the prison of death.
To open a way before us of peace and rest.

Matthew 28:5-7 "...The angel said to the women,
"Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking
for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here,
for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the
place where He was lying. Go quickly and tell His
disciples that He has risen from the dead;..."
