When Change Came

Nothing ever stays the same,
yet we often wonder when change came?
We try not to let it work its way in,
wondering from where it did begin.

Gathering belongings to have and to hold,
changed through the years, bought and sold.
A place to work from year to year,
not always the same as you move on with fear.

The places we play change with the day,
from childhood sandbox to sailboats that sway.
The eyes of the young see change as a friend,
while the eyes of the old see uncertainty in the end.

Considering how hard we try to make it stop,
you'd think we would learn our efforts are for naught,
for if change were to cease to be,
think of the wonder we might never see!

Psalm 102:25-26 In the beginning you laid the
foundations of the earth, and the heavens are
the work of your hands. They will perish,
but you remain; they will all wear out like
a garment. Like clothing you will change them
and they will be discarded.
