That Brighter Day

Life often hurts the worse in the midst of death,
when someone we love has taken their last breath.
The physical body is left behind,
while the soul has gone with its kind.

We are left to remember and lament,
contemplating where the living soul went.
Old fears of a vast emptiness remain,
as slowly confidence we gain.

Remembering the life that was spiritually lead,
knowing that this soul is not among the dead.
It has risen into His heavenly domain,
where death can never steal life again.

Fears of emptiness vanish away,
and we look forward to that brighter day,
when, through earthly death, we rise to life,
going where there is no more sorrow or strife.

Philippians 1:20 "I eagerly expect and hope that
I will in no way be ashamed, but will have
sufficient courage so that now as always Christ
will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by
death."
