A Place Called "I Don't Care" 2000

It's a place where everything stays the same,
there are no losses nor are there any gains.
Nothing crucial will have to be done,
day to day no fortunes won.

The same old chores done by rote,
with little attention to devote.
Even the things your soul longs for,
seem to drift just beyond life's shores.

It is a place where nothing new is required today,
but everything is expected of you anyway.
You think of nothing you would rather be doing,
wanting anything but what is ensuing.

A place where you staunchly want no change,
knowing that to be exactly what life should arrange
for the haunting place called "I don't care",
has nothing to offer a life but despair.

Faith cares as high as the heavenly host,
and draws your soul to what He loves most,
devotion that reaches out to a world in need,
and to all He would ask conscience to accede.

Isaiah 35:10 "and the ransomed of the Lord
will return. They will enter Zion with singing,
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow
and sighing will flee away."
