Apprehension Of Fear

Many steps have taken me
through the years,
years of many times of fear,
that bring anticipated tears.

A ferris-wheel high above the earth,
swinging seats, precarious berth.
A bicycle, balance unsure,
a horse it's beauty allures.

As a passenger in a car,
fears there were by far,
until I learned to drive my own,
all old fears now unknown.

Looking up at a mountain wall to climb,
more fear than the actual time,
to reach the top seeing the world anew,
from a fantastic panoramic view.

Watching someone on a ladder,
hardest on the one below,
whose fears oft wildly grow,
imagining falls they did not know.

Some of our fears do come about,
remembering real pain that stands out,
wanting protection from all earth's pain,
knowing suffering is life's domain.

though the earth give way and the
