In The Hands Of The Other**

To take a woman as your wife,
or a man, husband for life.
To have and to hold,
to be with till your old.

A promise to be there, good or bad,
the best of friends each has ever had.
To share life's heartache and joys,
that nothing on earth destroys.

All this a marriage union is and more,
where loving the other each cannot ignore.
No higher place has one over another,
side by side with the world to discover.

Time has brought you to each other's side,
and given you the hope today to decide,
to enter a place of trust where each longs to abide,
till life's final turning of it's eternal tide.

Put yourself in the hands of the other,
rejoice in the happiness you will discover,
Today look not toward heartache and grief,
but pledge to each other life, hope and belief.
