Guardian Of Our Souls**

Shepherd and guardian of our souls,
by your wounds we are made whole.
You have born the sins we carelessly commit,
no whimper of complaint when you did submit.

Teach us how to honor all men in our trust,
submitting to the reasonable and unjust,
for if I do what is right and suffer more,
is this not what your sacrifice was for?

For all the suffering that comes my way,
will not wipe away one sin I do today.
All the rules I have followed give me a goal,
that can never gain heaven for even one soul.

Help me to know my shepherd above,
your forgiveness and mercy given in love,
and that the salvation I constantly try to earn,
has been won through a message I have yet to learn.

Hebrew 2:9  "But we see Jesus, who was made a
little lower than the angels, now crowned with
glory and honor because he suffered death, so
that by the grace of God he might taste death
for everyone."
