Earth's Goodness**

Have you ever thought to balance
sin's forbidding scale,
with a deed sure to cancel
condemnation's wail?

Earth's goodness is measured
against evil's weight,
mortal judgement given,
according to law's rate.

Sentence once served,
cancels wrong's price,
unless the wrong,
is committed twice.

Sin returns to haunt us all,
and guilt can salvation stall,
till faith in a Redeemer forgives us all,
with no sentence to serve,
whether great or small.

The judge has served our sentence you see,
freeing us from sin, bringing victory,
the price of our salvation given free,
when He without sin paid the price for thee.

Hebrews 9:27  "Indeed, just as people are
appointed to die once and after that to be
judged, so Christ was sacrificed once to
take away the sins of many people."
