Blessings

What are blessings?
They are gifts,
Things we take for granted, forget they are there
We must stop and think of what they are
For it's far too easy to lose sight of what they are
Health, family, roof over your head
Food and clothing, water and clean air
Things that we just expect to be there.

Too often we get caught up in negativity
Allow ourselves to be stressed
It's easy to become discouraged
It's the nature of the world we live in
We must purposely step back and take a moment
Smell the flowers, breathe in the fragrant air
Look up at the sky, see the sun and blue sky
Beauty lies all around
Take joy in the little things
Blessings abound.
