Be Still 05/05/2020

The birds still find their mates,
          build their nests,
          lay their eggs,
          raise their young.

The squirrels still bury their treasures,
          dig the ground for nuts,
          chase around trees,
          complain from branches.

The sun is still warm on awesome days,
          cloudy skies still shed rain,
          dangerous heaven's lurk about,
          windy days move things around.

The houses still stand on firm ground,
others lay broken, contents never found.
          others lay under snows, unrelenting,
          mountains still stand majestic.

The churches are vacant, but the "church" is alive,
people still ask and the Lord still speaks,
the world takes a breath, the air clean,
people must be still and know the Lord.

Psalm 46:11  "Be still and know that I am God!  I am
exalted among the nations, exalted on the
          earth."
