Reflecting Hope 11/08

How could we pray for others today,
if we were to just go our own way,
not coming together week to week,
showing the brethren of whom we seek?

How would we know the truth to follow,
if our faith remained isolated and hollow,
if Your steadfast faith I did not see,
reflecting the hope that He gives us free.

What is there in the world that we might choose,
that would surely only baffle and confuse,
which only fleetingly succeeds to amuse,
its unfulfilled purpose just a simple ruse.

Let us always come together as one,
a body of believers in God's only Son,
not merely wallowing in sorrows small,
let our concerns for each other be deepest of all.

Proverbs 27:19  "As water reflects a face,
so a man's heart reflects the man.

Ecclesiastes 9:1 "So I reflected on all this
and concluded that the righteous and the
wise and what they do are in God's hands,
but no man knows whether love or hate
awaits him."
