Be Not Afraid 2000

Fear may present its worst design,
with rain unending, mercilessly unkind,
a clap of thunder, lightning bolt,
the smell of ozone, hazy smoke.

He follows as we make our way,
through the fears of not so ordinary days,
and then He also leads us through,
when fear comes back fresh and new.

Fear may come through waves of pain,
that will not lessen coming again and again.
He is as near as the sound of whispered prayer,
to comfort or cure may not seem fair.

Lazarus was in the grave three days,
before the Master His body raised,
but he would have to die again,
what happened to the miracle then?

Death being what we fear above all,
may not be our greatest enemy after all.
Fear lives only among the living
eternity promising only happiness giving.

Isaiah 41:13  "For I am the Lord, your God,
who takes hold of your right hand and says
to you, do not fear, I will help you."
