"BROWN SKIN"

I wanna be your brown skin.

I wanna be that Brotha you spoke of so elegantly at lively poetry reading on a
warm summer night.

I wanna be inseparable one who never
stops supporting you, even when times
are not always right.

I wanna be your ebony savior
with a sensual flavor who finally
gives you opportunity to exhale

I wanna inject circular images of
caressing your hair and becoming
a wind blowing in your sails.

I wanna be your brown skin

I wanna be a Nubian adventurer
exploring each and every surface
of your ebony terrain.

I wanna feel my thrust penetrating
your sonnet walls producing moans
in lyrical rain.

I wanna be your soul creator
your spiritual innovator
your sexual emancipator
and all points in between
clinging to the strap of your bra.

I wanna be your psychedelic
intellectual grove thang fiendishly
connecting my ooooooooo's
with your la la la's.

I wanna be your brown skin.

I wanna let the entire world know
of wanting and needing and needing
and wanting the Black Woman
in order to survive.

I wanna be your Reparations
your Underground Railroad
and your Revolution where for
you it's exclusively televised.

I wanna take you back way back
in the day, where a old school
oooh sooo funky.

I wanna make like Stevie, wondering
if that ribbon in the sky symbolize
opportunity in your heart to finally
love me.

I wanna be your brown skin.
