"SUNDAY AFRIKAN DRUM CIRCLE;  FOR BLACK AUGUST"(FREE WRITE) By Rob Morrow

Nothing but love
and togetherness
for all to see
no stereotypes
no neck rolling sistahs
no gun toting gangsters
no absent baby daddies.

Melanin grooving
soothing spirits
the red black and green
is on display
vendor's having a field day
serving food
motherland accessories
It's BLACK AUGUST, Y'ALL
freedom reigns
with beat of the drum
base tone slap
base tone slap
de de de de de de
ta ta ta

I'm feeling so content
dispelling the myth
of Willie Lynch.

Leimert Park
has a way of
making your soul
feel quite at ease

With Good food
good people
good love.

Gu do da
Gu do da
Gu do da

Djembe caresses my spirit
feeling care free vibe
getting caught in the web of its movement
Up ye fo freedom
Up ye fo freedom.

With twist of the hips
Afrikan steps inject
cultural and sensual
postures arousing curiosity
a beat a second.

I NEED MORE AFRIKA
I NEED MORE AFRIKA

Gu da da da
Gu da da da
Gu da da da
Gu da da da

Gun Gun Gun.

None stop
fast pace
watch those GOD and GODDESSES
shake their ancestors gifts
of love and life.

Watch it unfold
licking the truth
on the lips
dripping transitional
souls never asking
permission to be themselves.

So they keep dancing

MORE AFRIKA PLEASE!!!!

Gu da da da
Gu da da da
Gu da da da
Gun Go do.

Fervor is intense
passage way motherland's heart
has me so content
I'M HOME WITH MY PEOPLE
with a beat of the drum

De de de de de
da da da!!!!!!!!!
