Deferred
Deferred I conferred… But it never occurred to the rhyming chord That I could no more afford The Growing discord Among the hero and heroine Of my new storyline Deferred … I offered… The arrangement would be fine It is only the matter of time No use blaming the murdered While my quill fluttered… To begin the prose …and expose the script I kept so close Deferred…I said but the Poet Simmered… Changing tracks you cannot get me cornered… How many times do I get it hammered In your wretched drained brain My nascent rhymes denied of life Will never keep you sane Remember the poets disdain Deferred…is what all I said… And all I see is mutiny ahead Before I am killed and dead I hope they have read What I meant when I said Deferred…Deferred…I have enough Suffered….
