The deep dark

Way down there in the black place,
                     lies the deep dark
A world apart from the centre row
                     with it's celluloid scare
                     and ice cream
is the cold road, the half caught stare
                     and the frozen scream,
                     on that hazy ride to consciousness;
                     That cold sweat dream
from where you were or thought you were
                     and the fear's real
when you brush away that cobweb thin
                     fine line of reality
                     as your mind turn's
                     right down there
                     in the strange dark
                     it's dreadful place
where fire burn's on written word
                     or hostile face
then shrugged off with a slight remembered
                     vacant gaze.
                     Or,perhaps in a mirror,in a long moment
                     you catch a space
                     where a strangers stand's,
                     hate in his eyes,
                     hell in his heart
moving up from the deep dark,
                     that evil place.....
