The Only Casualty

Yesterday when I wanted to Sleep
My soul Gave me a beep
said You have slept enough
let's take stalk of what you owe me.

I was appalled Eyes were grim
My schedule is full to the brim,
Chances of closing my deadlines seem slim,
But to no avail…The dragon prevailed

I was confused, the thought was scary
and I was wary, for I had no answers for the impending trial

I have been trying to console
I am your only Soul, Do not look away
Trying to look Happy and Gay
Drop few tears and take them out
Howl and Scream let them hear
The only Casualty

Do not push Stay Away
All that I had courage to   say
My treasure was only mine
I am not giving thee a dime
For if you ask me to share
A tale so rare
Prices are high, for you a far cry
To Know
The only Casualty

I have been your only mate
Early morning or late
Soul was trying all it's trait
To get me hooked to its bate
I was being trapped while my energy was sapped
Sleep joined the Coup; I knew I was in the Soup
Pausing my Yawn, I called on
O Drunken Soul! O Dreamy Eye
If you have finished your wine
Can I have the attention?
Of your Droopy detention
Let me elaborate and deliberate
The Only Casualty

Soul had Succour,
I   realized I had missed my supper
Our War is eternal
Soul is like a Colonel
We have our regular banter
I always have reasons to fight
But the Soul sets me Right
My Guide, Always by My Side
Only one who swears on The Reality
The Only Casualty
