Simple Slumber**

Lord, as I now lay down to rest,
I have but one simple request,
that if I not make it through the night,
I find favor in Your divine sight.

As I lay myself in simple slumber,
my prayers are but few in number,
that if out of this world I am brung,
I should wake in Your eternal kingdom.

Yet, if I wake to this world's wonder,
let me remember the grace I am under,
that leads my steps for one more day,
and in Your mercy lets me stay.

salvation comes from him."
