Heaven's Eternal Fare**

Lord, earth's time is both foe and friend,
elusively passing by as swift as the wind,
or doggedly lagging along without an end,
never dreaming how our time we would spend.

Lord, you separated the day from the night,
and gave each time its certain light,
the hour of each day the sun and moon display,
as the turning of the earth goes its way.

Though time seems long and not well spent,
we easily look back to find precious moments,
not daring to change one good or bad,
embracing it all happy or sad.

Lord, You have given it all into our care,
to shape us into Heaven's eternal fare,
redeemed by Your one and only Son,
even as our days on earth are all said and done.

Ecclesiastes 3:10-12 "I have seen the burden God
has laid on men. He has made everything beautiful
in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts
of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from
beginning to end.  I know that there is nothing better
for men than to be happy and do good while they live."
