Going Through The Motions**

Going through the motions an aimless walk,
heedless to heaven's spiritual knocks,
wading through each day's nameless dread,
forgetting to take it to the Lord instead.

Lord, bring us back to Your first fruits,
back to our soul's spiritual roots,
the many blessings You first gave,
knowing You are the one who saves.

The world threatens to draw us away,
from what once was our spirit's first desire,
enveloping us in this earth's worthless gain,
deceiving us with importance greater than Thee.

The world's large temptations easiest to resist,
than the everyday apathy of small sinful twists,
that still separate us from eternity's reward,
where salvation still belongs to the Lord.

Revelation 3:15-16  "I know your deeds, that
you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were
either one or the other!  So, because you are
lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to
spit you out of my mouth."
