 Stranger

A stranger resides within me...
He has come in the blink of an eye
and regarded my soul as home...
The wars waged in the day's end
have brought me to my knees again...
This stranger of no name I'd like to
blame for the dealings I have poorly made...
Truth be told I invited his coming
a festival he would host in a moment
The nights come quickly now and end with the
morning light...He has uprooted
every innocent thought once held true and
gifted in their stead nothing new...
Gently rested for the night, I lay awake
and without the coy smile I give for conversation sake,
For it is this time alone I live with myself
and this new stranger who resides within me..
Chaos is upon me, my eyes can't see and
somehow I think I'm free...
Behind the darkness of the night, the closed doors of
our hearts, the alone we all have, this is where
the truth of us is known...
Are you true to yourself and know him well...
Does he make you proud to speak your name,
and eager to live yet again...
This is the battlefield bloodied as the wars
waged within bring to light, yet I pretend to lay gently
down for the night...
There is not peace to dream of when hurt is my wake, my
traveled path...
I am ready for this stranger to be a stranger no more
I will seek him out, expose his madness
and the war left will be to the death..
He will lose
I remain true, somewhere in there is a heart that beats
warm blood and knows of love and its splendor
listens for it and can see it even when it is hidden...
The path is narrow and few are those that travel, but
life is worth it and I shall prevail this stranger has no
home in me...But the battle for a life is grand
it is darkness of hope and coldness in dreams
it is a head with no face and a face with no
expression..
Time, always time, I care not for time to tell
I haven't the patience and by then will have fallen to hell,
so I will control the days the thoughts leading to the days end
and take back what I gave
find a path of peace to carry love with me, when she arrives,
and this is the path the adventure
I shall seek to the grave...
