Heaven's Glory**

I have risen above the clouds,
to view the vast expanse of my sin.
There I see the endless shame of yesterday,
the haunting despair of today.

I have descended through a sightless path,
desperate to see past the cloudy haze.
I have felt the turbulence that shakes my soul,
growing more fearful as I near life's end.

I have looked up to see heaven's glory,
shining down in endless rays of sun,
reaching as far as these earthy eyes can see,
extending a promise for you and me.

A promise that He gathered all my sin and shame,
placing it on a wooden cross with all humanity's vein.
I could not bare the weight of my own deception,
yet, He has carried all creation's evil conceptions.

He has brought them to the deepest bowels of hell,
defeating earth's most dreaded enemy, death we know well.
His victory fulfilled in a sinner's simple faithful cry,
forgiveness found in a prayer sent to heaven on high.

Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that
brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are
healed."
