Autumn's Light**

Autumn's light is golden bright,
with all the colors of fall's delight,
pumpkins ripen on the vine,
cucumbers, squash, tomatoes divine.

Earth's abundance ready to store,
preparing for winter's bitter score,
of biting cold and snowy ground,
that waits for spring to again rebound.

A time when days become shortened by night,
and scary shadows bring children delight,
when pieces of candy become a prize,
from house to house are different supplies.

Autumn's days bring falling leaves,
when warm temperatures can deceive,
as winter seems to scarcely breathe,
while fall's illusions only tease.
