Count Not The Cost*

Through the joyous welcome
of each day's gain,
comes the unwelcome sadness,
of that day's pain.

Each moment a loss,
of ever advancing time.
Each moment the gain,
of His fruits divine.

For the only fruits,
that are never lost,
are those for which,
we count not the cost.

For all of earth's loss,
is all of heaven's gain,
and only His love and mercy,
shall ever remain.
