Heaven's Knowing Shame**

We fear the person we think we should be,
no matter how hard we try, we cannot perfect be.
We don't see perfection in anyone we've met,
still we know perfection is what they would expect.

We make as few mistakes as we can,
being especially good the ultimate plan.
Our days turn to months, months to years,
our mistakes multiplying all our fears.

When life seems to prove our doubts to be true,
our troubled hearts do not know what to do.
Our earthly failures surely heaven's knowing shame,
until we understand why the Savior came.

For no one on this flawed earthly sphere,
could save themselves in spite of their tears.
The most perfect person to be found,
could not earn one speck of heavenly ground.

A Savior came to redeem our tainted souls,
by being the only perfect sacrifice anyone knows.
We are perfected only in His redeeming grace,
as on the cross He took our disgrace.

Galatians 3:22  "But the Scripture declares that
the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that
what was promised, being given through faith
in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe."
