The Rainbow's Promise 04/23/2020

Creation has never left us content,
never satisfied with what You sent.
First the fruit of a forbidden tree,
then a murder in the first family.

Then the world had only one who believed,
for all the earth had been decieved.
A great vessel was built by the faithful one,
creation had again begun.

After the drowning days were filled,
Noah's family left the ark a world to build.
Three sons begot the earth again,
the rainbow promised man would live.

Then Abraham was promised a great nation,
a great faith built on a firm foundation.
God's people often disobeyed,
their quick devotion began to fade.

Today God's people are scattered about,
their true allegiance can have little doubt.
They have risen above the ashes of man's sin,
the Holy Spirit resides within.

I Peter 2:10
        Once you were "no people"
            but now you are God's people;
          you "had not received mercy"
but now you have received mercy.
