Do You Ask 2004

Do you ask me,
if you should choose a certain way,
or do you without me, go about your day?

Do you ask me,
if you should take a certain road,
or do you just go where your feelings bode?

Do you ask me,
when you need to make an important choice,
or do you even take time to listen to my voice?

Do you ask me,
why certain people in your life pass by,
or do you just make your own judgements and sigh?

Do you ask me,
why certain tragic things happen all the time,
or do you blame others or even me for the crime?

Do you ask me,
to be with you when you first open your eyes,
or am I the last one you talk to when
   the day's light dies?

Jeremiah 2:8 The priest's did not ask, "Where is the
Lord?"  The experts in the law did not know me:
the shepherds rebelled against me.  The prophets
prophesied by Baal, and went after useless idols.
