Never Ending Score07/25/04

Does your heart hang heavy for crimes of long ago?
Have you done something that causes you woe?
Does each sin ride upon the one that came before?
Will today's be added to the never ending score?

Do you do a few good deeds to erase a sin or two?
Are the sins you try to hide more than a few?
Maybe you can explain a certain sin away,
justifying the reasons in some blameless way?

You no longer need to lie to your terrified soul,
trying to attain some impossible sinless goal.
A Savior has captured all the wrongs you have done,
and forgiven all humanity for every single one.

All wrongs great or small can be brought before Him,
where He washes away each and every sin.
Tenderly coaxing them from where they hide,
as you one by one willingly decide.

You can never even pay the debt you owe today,
salvation depending on who has carried it away.
All you have to do is believe he came to earth one day,
to die on a cross for all sins to pay.

Psalm 32:5  Then I declared my sin to you; my guilt
I did not hide.  I said, " I confess my transgression to
the Lord, and You took away the guilt of my sin."
