Destined 2002

It is something we know
we are destined for,
that happens once for all,
then happens just once more.

Reality does not accept
the fact as truth.
Life's first years are busy
with abundant youth.

Life's second years bring forth
those with their own destinies,
where generation's truth seeking,
never comes with guarantees.

No one gets to stay in this world.
Time is numbered for everyone.
When the numbers are our own,
we want to adjust the sum.

What change takes place
when we know for sure,
that our own mortal death,
we too must endure?

When we see a life so brightly lit,
come to a sudden end,
we unexpectedly draw near to our own,
when He for us will send.

John 11:25-26 "...I am the resurrection and
the life.  He who believes in me will live, even
though he dies; and whoever lives and believes
in me will he never die..."
