Way of Escape 09/06/2010

Lord, what lies or truths darken our world today,
that we forget the beauty the world takes away,
for the brightest day can be seen as black smoke,
and on its entrails the body will surely choke.

What buoy do we search for to find our way,
on swelling seas or becalmed waters that sway.
What lifeline is cast that today's hope will last,
the despair within our souls not be forever cast.

Though we are brought to the bottom of our world,
where all satan's screams are viciously unfurled,
yesterday or today our escape remains the same,
where He entreats our prayers in His Holy name.

From the smallest tear to heart wrenching fear,
our precious Lord is always waiting to hear,
to start the healing only He can provide,
to trust in His mercy is yours to decide.

I Corinthians 10:13  No temptation has overtaken
you except what is common to mankind.  And God
is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond
what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, he
will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
