Journey's End 05/26/95

If you change the path we use to take,
I cannot go there with you.
For any path you would choose,
is one I have already traveled.

I have sojourned it's countless byways,
climbed it's impossible elevations.
I have fallen victim to it's deceptive twists,
and been lost in it's illusive destinations.

Don't think me unkind,
if I leave you to travel alone.
For I know the end of the journey you are
on and I am nearly there.

My heart aches to spare you the age old trials,
that have been a thousand years revisited,
that somehow are new to each generation,
that imagines it has a different set of
circumstances.

But reality proves a different course,
with all the same results,
and when you have completed your expedition,
you will discover many others long before
arrived.

I will be there waiting,
where your journey first began,
the same beginning I discovered,
at my own journey's end.

Luke 3:5  Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth,
and all people will see God's salvation.
